What you actually mean, if it's not just a thinly veiled bait thread, is the "special relationship" they both (pretended) to have, that is now over. What went wrong? It was doomed from the start. First of all, they are pretty opposite people (Kiara is a very girly girl, Mori has a more dudebro personality. Kiara is interested in idols and cosplay, Mori is into rap and twitch ecelebs. Kiara is emotionally very needy, Mori is more gruff and cares much less, and so on...), and despite the saying, opposites rarely attract in reality and people vibe better with people who are on a similar wavelength.
So what brought them together was only the mere coincidence of being in similar circumstances at the time (both young-ish western women trying (and failing so far) to realize their individual different dreams in Japan). That's some bonding potential at least, but it's tenuous, see as soon as (a) they kind of realized their dreams and (b) they were not close together in Japan anymore, the "special" relationship pretty much fell apart instantly. Plus (c) as soon as HoloEN expanded and the five original girls had more people options (who they potentially better vibe with) to hang out with and not just constantly only collab with each other, that also contributed to the drifting apart.
