Literally no actual person from mainland china would bend to the will of the international community if they one day decided to no longer recongnize the PRC's sovreignty, they'd instatly remind the wolrd that they have a cultural identity and a government ETC.
You speak as if a technical consensus can somehow shape reality.
The reality is that Taiwan has an independent government and army and that the Taiwanese all share a sense of identity and belonging to the place they inhabit, in the same way the mainlanders do.
the concept of "country" is a societal construct built by peoples and their cultures.
A handful of people sitting in a circle having opinions about which of these places are "countries" doesn't shape reality.
