yes they can avoid paying benefits, but at the amount of money their talents make this, and paying into social security, is such a small factor.
uber drivers are wageys, the same idea doesnt work when you're talking about millionares. if the company is taking in this much profit they would be under so much more scrutiny and wouldn't get away with this shit.
on top of this, the issue with uber-drivers is there's MILLIONS of them, taking uber from 200 people to 2million people is not the same as employing 10 people.
Just... please understand that your surface level analysis just really does not apply the way you think it does.
I am not saying VShojo is all friends who do things for fun, I would say Kson kinda messed up trying to portray it like that, but she's also trying to explain how it works vs a japanese agency, and frankly in comparison it must seem like that. It's a corporation, but an american talent agency, which is not the same thing as a japanese talent agency which people refer to as "corprate vtubing".
their business model is different, they make things happen and take a cut, they do not "run" the business and "hire" or "fire" people. they might eventually end contracts but that will only change the projects they work on together, not actually affect the vtuber's own streams or content in any way.
