>>27971626This is purely rrat, but I'm someone that deals with this manner of contract negotiations on a regular basis, so It's an educated guess.
Timing, when it's a round number, is almost never a coincidence. If something happens very close to exactly on a 3/6/12 month milestone of something (such as debut or retirement), it's probably related to a contract term.
It's no mystery that Sana didn't stream as much as other talent, but she does have "roommate" activities, and a "day job". She may have kept up the minimum contractual requirements for Hololive, but she clearly didn't see it as her primary "Job". Love her or hate her (although how anyone could hate her, I don't know), that's cold hard fact.
Her term came up, and not wanting to lose their investment thus far, Cover probably gave her some new terms for the contract renewal. Probably higher activity, more focus on her Hololive streams and less on roommate (if any), and so on. Sana did the math, and decided that for whatever reason, that wasn't possible for her.
The why could be any number of things. Maybe the requests were unreasonable. Maybe she makes way more money on her other activities. Maybe her schedule would need to be fundamentally changed and she would have to give up something else (likely something we are not, and will never, be aware of).
Whatever the reason, they couldn't re-negotiate their contract. So she had to make the choice between whatever that "other" is, or continuing with Hololive. She chose the former.
Call that her being fired, or call that her choosing to graduate. But I have seen this exact scenario so many times that I would bet anyone good money that's almost precisely how it went down.
