People look at StarsJP and expect StarsEN to end up the same. There are a couple of problems with that.
The japanese scene and the western scene flow very differently. Hololive alone is like 75% of the west, their brand recognition here is huge. The relatively more relaxed western holo fanbase is more likely to adopt StarsEN, meme them and make them go viral just by being associated, however loosely, with Hololive. StarsJP never enjoyed a position like this over in Japan, where Nijisanji occupies half, or more, of the scene's mental real estate.
StarsEN may not even be structured the same as StarsJP. They might be granted more liberties in content and output (no gender segregation), to hopefully make the western audiences more receptive to them. Cover might even have them copy the NijiEN males to some degree, to try and barge in on a proven market. Furthermore, there could potentially be a lot of viewers out there who want male vtubers, but are only aware of Hololive (or feel repelled by other brands/indies). This is a market available only to StarsEN, and it could be substantial.
The combination of brand power and proven ground could easily allow StarsEN to outstrip NijiEN in the long run. I firmly believe we'll see them hit 100k+ subs pre-debut, and all of them hit at least 4 digit viewerships in their first weeks, debut streams in the 5 digits. I'd genuinely be stunned if they actually faltered to StarsJP levels.
