It's a simple reaction to seeing a girl you like (even a little) being close to another man. It sets off biological functions in your body which are meant to prepare you for competing with that other male, but when watching vtubers will only serve to sour the experience for you. It's not like you can fight them over the internet and ooga-booga your way into proving you are the superior male, after all. You're just stuck there acknowledging something unpleasant is occuring and there's NOTHING you can do about it. It's no wonder so many people react badly to it. Any decent streamer of the idol/gfe/male-appealing/whatever sort will understand this dynamic and just avoid males completely when streaming.
Interestingly enough, I've seen many people say this reaction doesn't occur when they know the streamer is married.
