This thread is like a Chinatown. Just like Chinatowns don't actually look like modern China, this thread looks nothing like /jp/hlg/. The reason for both of these issues is simple: immigrants from China arrived to US, started living in the same place and they made it look like China as they remember it. Of course, China was and still is changing, modernizing, but Chinatowns are not because people keep it as they remember China when they left it before migrating to US. It's like a time machine, really. Sad to know that all Chinatowns will die out as soon as boomers that live there die. This "story" applies to this thread as well: /vt/hlg/ is like US and /jp/hlg/ is like China. It's a time machine. Posts and culture here are nothing like modern /jp/hlg/.
