I think Mori convinced them they need to "evolve" their business by becoming more like Vshojo or they will become stagnant and eventually become irrelevant as the v-market introduces new gimmicks to draw in the simps. To be fair Cover's administration is abyssmally incompetent, arrogant and self-fellating as of now, so it's unfair to say their fears are not unfounded.
