If you present it a certain way that is too obvious then nothing else matters. It doesn't matter that it is exactly what people want from someone else, they wont accept it. It doesn't matter that both have the intention to manipulate viewers. Even if the one offering that experience is honest and honestly wants that kind of relationship with complete ignorance of the consequences, it doesn't matter. People will continue to reject it in favor of those that say they wont do it but then tease it as part of their regular business model.
