You're both right and wrong.

You're right in that VShojo's success specifically doesn't take away from Hololive's success or vice versa, because they both pander to different audiences. The people who want to watch Veibae talk about pussy farts are not the people who want to watch Fauna be cute, and vice versa.

You're wrong in that if they ever do start fighting for the same audience, it will very quickly turn into a competition. Up until now, vtuber agencies have been smarter than to try to beat Hololive at the idol game, but yeah.

I agree with this as a stand-alone statement.
However, there is a valuable distinction between competition writ-large, for an unknown quantity of resources, and "zero sum competition" where person A can only get more if B gets less.
