That's true. However, I'd expect them to just ban the topic altogether (i.e: don't address this) if that's the case. Stuffs like how Kiara was able to name Pomu out in public recently ("Pomu", not "that girl', not "she", not anything else) and how the birthday video went made it sounds like NijiEN's side who is blocking it, too.

I can't help but think this whole "issue" is born out of some insanely childish seethe. Even if you list all the potential reasons why it might be a "good business decision" to ban these collabs or whatever... They're clearly aware that the idols on both sides would like it to happen, in this case extremely so because they're basically off-stream friends. So they're choosing to punish them with that cockblock. For what exactly? Not to mention everyone knows about it by now because it sticks out like a sore thumb when both sides can collab with any other corp just fine (and even their JP sides are doing it).

It just seems so laughably petty and childish to fucking "blacklist" a huge company over basically nothing. At this point I really do think it's some CEO dick measuring type of deal and all the rrats about them "sabotaging" each other might as well be unironically true.

Depends on the branch. HoloID gives no fucks and collabs with anyone. EN is kind of super autistic about it and apparently meticulously check if the corp is "ng" according to whatever standards they use. But it is possible, as seen with Vshojo, VOMS and Noripro. It seems to me like neither of the EN Branches bothered (let alone made any effort) to establish any sort of proper cordial relations with one another, the same way the other branches have, even when talents on both sides started following/interacting with one another.
That's the only logical explanation I can think of that makes any real sense.

Moonafic, almost all of her recent outside from outside Hololive have been with non corpo vtubers. Liliana is the only corpo vtuber she still interacts with semi-regularly and she's Malaysian.

I'm a Nijifag but I think it's Niji blocking it just because they're afraid of Hololive's Chinese antis taking aim at NijiEN.

At this point both Holo and Niji would benefit from collabs since Holo desperately needs to boost StarsEN and Niji would benefit from the Holo clipfags promoting them. So it's not really a decision based around growth/profits but just paranoia about a potential scandal. HoloEN rejected collabs with NijiEN when NijiEN was small because they didn't want to give NijiEN any exposure.
As retaliation NijiEN blocked HoloEN back.
Which is why Pomu can't show Kiara's happy birthday video.
This might change once Tempus debuts because HoloEN might have a motivation to have them collab with the NijiEN males because they will have the bigger numbers.
It could lead to an exchange, HoloEN lets their girls collab with NijiEN and NijiEN lets their males collab with HoloEN's males.
This is assuming Cover's EN management considers this a worthy exchange, they are basically taking a shortcut with Tempus giving it extra exposure in exchange for helping NijiEN's girls have more exposure.
We don't know how serious Cover is about the EN stars yet.
For all we know they might be thrown into the wild, banned from collabing with the girls or anybody else and left to stagnate.
Or maybe they will do everything they can to help their chances to succeed, we'll see.

Personally I don't think this collab would be anything special and I don't give a fuck about what the talents want, they're just employees.
I agree with Cover's decision so far of blocking collabs with NijiEN.
They wouldn't gain anything from helping them out for free and this is a very cutthroat business.
What they do in Japan is a relic of older times when the industry wasn't as competitive and everyone helped each other and collabbed.
But EN is a new game with new rules and Cover is playing to win.

So now shizos are saying she called Bae an alcoholic on stream.
Also when chat went "oh no, she is leaking things again" she made fun of them by saying "oh no, I leaked that we are sad about Sana's graduation, how could I?"
