Taiwanese keyboard warriors supported Coco with the expectation that she would repay the favor and support their efforts to boycott and divest China worldwide. Their stated goal is to cause trans-Pacific relations to deteriorate so far as to culminate in a theater war between the PRC and the US/Japan alliance that would leave Taiwan free of having a pesky alternate system of government on the other side of the black ditch, all for the low low price of hundreds of thousands (if not millions) of dead Japanese and Americans.
Instead, Coco apologized for showing Taiwan metrics on stream and said she was "ignorant" for having done so. Hololive also failed to unambiguously support Taiwan (the Republic of China) and condemn (the People's Republic of) China. Because of this, the aforementioned Taiwanese shitstirrers have chosen to act out against Hololive and its fans. More than half of the ESL anti-Hololive spam we get here comes from Taiwanese false-flaggers, including the ones pretending to be "westoids" blaming their own chinkops on southeast asians/mainland Chinese/"holobronnies"/etc. etc.
For what it's worth, Hong Kongers /here/ are split between useless wishers-for-independence, who support the anti-Hololive chinkops, and unironic angloboos who try to keep a low profile and hate the Chinese even more than we do (kek). There are almost no mainland Chinese left /here/, and the few that do try to influence the debate are dead easy to spot because they WILL NOT EVER falseflag as anti-Communists.
