>>29172099Most current NijiEN fans (and vshojo fans, and phase connect/tsunderia/prism/indie fans) are old/former Hololive fans, they're simply posting where they already feel at home. They've found a new thing in NijiEN and, much like holofans in early 2020 eagerly rushing to push everyone "down the rabbit hole", are sharing it with the people and places they know best.
Hololive thrives on the walled garden aspect of their fandom, however. They get first dibs on fans due to the Youtube algorithm favouring them, but that also means they're the ones actually bleeding fans out to smaller corpos, indies etc. Unityposting on the Nijisanji subreddit is permitted because it's taken for granted that everyone present already knows Hololive and even watches them, but comes there specifically for Nijisanji.
Posting non-Holos in Hololive-centric communities is a threat, however. Holofans often only know Hololive; exposure to any other group of vtubers tends to pull fans away from Hololive with the allure of something new and different. It's in the best interests of the company and its fanbase that they safeguard their advantage as much as possible.
