>>2937744>>2937743I've been saying this for fucking months, literally the only reason they're so close is Kiara had a pity party "redebut" from her channel getting nuked which got a ton of subs, maybe 15k. Whether those were in part real or from people making burner accounts to sub on to keep on the joke/try to support her, I dunno.
Regardless between that and doing several marathon singing streams she's in essence artificially boosted herself at least 20-30k. And has had original songs and collabs out the ass etc, she tries so hard and I must say, that is admirable. Yet despite all that Ina still pulls ahead just by being a lazy tako. Imagine if Ina tried, or if Kiara didn't try and was still weighed down by the fucking horrible design/voice/passive-aggressive, transparently-artificially-happy attitude. It would have been a mogging.
For people saying the subs don't matter to chuubas, that is honestly a case-by-case basis, it DOES matter to some, but not to all. Mel for example always had this as a side-gig and had (still has I think) a regular job. Joined Holo mostly to be a niche ASMR streamer and that was banished, then she herself got banned, troubles with her manager etc on top of cratering in new subs/SCs etc. Would she have had reasonable grounds to quit? Definitely. Did she? Nope. She said she had considered it but her fans begged her to stay so she didn't. Similarly, Aki had just said in Holotalk that maybe she would have quit if she didn't get a second wind of support from overseas fans. So she hadn't really discussed it but it seems her position definitely dug into her conscience. Watame is also a numberfag FYI, as is Pekora and a number of others.
Holos themselves are in some cases the ultimate numberfags. It is not irrational to notice obvious, public statistics and compare. That naturally leads to "hmm why is this one popular/not popular" or "do I think these ones deserve it or not" etc. If you're a thoughtful fan who dwells on this subject, IT WILL come up. I don't think it's worth dwelling on as the all-consuming thing but it is at least something to factor. You want your oshi to be successful and be on the incline and will worry when she's declining. That's natural. The question is whether you think that success comes at the cost of other oshis or not.
