That also extends to his interactions with other girls, just look at his last Mario Kart collab and how he went from being relaxed and not really trying to win to suddenly pulling every trick he could to win when the punishment for the round was to do a couple roleplay with him.
And you are right about the boys not wanting to push for collabs themselves, it's pretty much an agreement to not be the ones to ask for collabs with the girls, instead waiting until the girls ask, Oga mentioned that a bit during that card opening stream.
