It honestly had good ideas both on the type of vampires and the general lore. The only real downside was just how off the characterizations for Bella, Edward, and Jacob was.
All the other characters and their backstories and you could of made a legit modern adventure story if you cut the above three out and made it about the vampire politics and conflicts with a family of vegetarian vampires stuck in the middle trying to get by.
