KFP are alright, they're just culty and a bit cringe but they don't harass anyone else even if their oshi is a stacy. They also create the most original content of any of the EN fanbases except maybe Teamates, so that's cool I guess.

The digital stuff does well in chart positions because literally nobody buys digital music. Getting an "impressive" position like 1st in those charts often mans you sold a few hundred in one day. It sounds a lot more impressive than it actually is.

There is Mori's last release which I seem to remember doing quite well on the Japanese itunes chart in terms of daily position, selling 382 copies in the first week it was on the digital chart and then 749 in the second and 249 in the third and last week on the chart.

It released on Friday, so you're gonna have to do some number fudging to get actual first-week sales figures. It was probably actually around 900 to just under 1k.

Yeah but the point is to get some impressive sounding position on a digital downloads chart for albums you really don't need to do much. A few hundred sales a day is often enough to be the best seller.

And yeah, picking people has worked out really well for Cover overall, they had the Chris issue early on and that was it. Aloe was a mistake due to her situation and lack of fortitude but at least it was amicable.
Holostars have been dropping like flies though.

Making it to the top of the iTunes chart isn't as much as a success as it seems, as some anon already pointed out. It means you have a dedicated fanbase. Every YouTuber or inflencer who has released music has had a number one or close to one spot on the iTunes chart.

That said, Mori is incredibly hard working and talented but saying it's all her and not the brand is a bit disingenuous considering her other persona is considered an opening act at best to more popular musicians after grinding for years in the business.

I was under impression BaphometBackgammon was going to remain active in a reduced capacity indefinitely because she wanted to keep the option available. It's also quite possible she had ongoing projects she wanted to finish and see how HoloEn would do and she's going to shelf it but I don't think it's ever going to go fully inactive.

Being in one of the most prestigous vtuber groups right now contributes to her success. I'm not saying that she doesn't deserve it (though I do think that her music is just mediocre at best) but without the brand power, people wouldn't even give her a time of day. "An anime girl that speaks the the lingua franca is releasing some fire music!" would surely get the masses riled up.
