it's cool that you're a fan of the real person, but coming to an event that specifically invites and celebrates the character, surrounded mainly by fans of said character and putting on yourself a big poster of 'It's actually [x]!' won't necessarily garner you any fans
it's like chatting about a wrestling match and instead calling them great fighters you start to chat about how great of an acrobat and actor a wrestler is... like, we know, dude, but don't spoil the mood?
