Like most chubas, she started out a bit reserved and had some gimmick (being a tsundere) that she dropped pretty early on. She gradually got more comfortable and started acting crazier. She also adopted the nickname Haachama. Fans jokingly explained the difference in personality by asserting that Haato and Haachama were different people. Haachama took this and ran 1000 miles with it. She started releasing horror-themed lore videos about the multiple personalities sharing her body, and would put on an act of switch personalities mid-stream. Hope this helps.

Early Hato was a company designed character and personality. Back in the day the talents were hired to play a character like a VA and not have the character be a extension of themselves. Once this was done away with, the nice girl we know as Hato turned into a sadistic skizo we call Hachama. It got to the point that Hachama hated Hato so much that she beheaded Hato on stream in front of a live audience. No Joke, this really happened and Hachama got suspended for a while.

There's a sleeping god buried under Australia that's the source of their hostile wild life and the general madness it's natives exhibit. Haachama was left by herself in a basement apartment so even though she wasn't born in the country she was given low filter access to its madness inducing brain waves and also was forced to have constant exposure to its minions trying to make their way back to the source. In time she even turned towards eating them.
