Think about it. I love nene but she does not have the strength to endure what Coco has been going through the past few months.

It was only a matter of time before she made some minuscule fuck up that made her a target of the Chinese.
Removing her Chinese backstory and clothing makes her less likely to mention Taiwan or Western Taiwan. I’m sure many of the other holos have been advised to mention China as little as possible.
