How important is the game the vtuber plays to your experience watching them?

Do you watch them even though they play a game you hate?

There's a graphable bell curve function where you are enjoyable to watch as a good gamer, enjoyable to watch specifically because you are utter ass at gaming, and mediocre-to-okay gameplay that isn't worth watching at all because it's so astonishingly average.
Not sure who LTG is, but DSP is an example of being so incredibly shitty that his shittiness is noteworthy.

It matters because it often dictates the pace. For example I enjoy minecraft streams not because I particularly care for the game, but because it's much like a zatsudan. The Battle Royales like apex have a mix of action and more relaxed times.

You can, but there's a limit to it. If the streamer ends up stuck on the same spot for a long time there's very few that can keep it entertaining.

A lot of the games Ina plays I think are boring or boring to watch someone else play, but I enjoy her soft spoken voice so I'll usually have her stream playing in the background while I do something else.

I'd watch anything by better streamers; i'd stay away from MC or apex streams by the bad ones. Some just do no reactions or barely any interaction at all when they "focus" (and still play badly) so its boring

very, I couldn't care less about all those fall guys or apex streams.
I can bear shit games only if it's a collab, but outside of collabs I only watch the games I like.

50/50, the stream is half the game and half the streamer. If the game is shit the streamer needs to pick up and inject more of their personality and talk more, usually turning it into a pseudo chatting stream.
Likewise, if the vtuber is shit but the game is kino it can pretty much carry the stream through its gameplay alone.

I would say it matters to the majority. My average view changes vastly depending on the game. Danganronpa gets about 60-80 views while my regular games get 20 or so.
