Wouldn't make sense for a newcomer. Even if they're getting fed clips by nijifags on a Discord server or something, Youtube is going to be pushing Hololive in the video end recs/autoplay.
Ex-holofags were always the demographic the branch was going to have to aim for, Hololive being the giant gateway vtuber corpo in the west. There was no unknown, untapped fan goldmine out there waiting for them. Even the femchinks that now worship Luxiem started out on the NijiJP side of males. On /vt/, the majority of NijiENfags are still (ex-)holofags as well.
You also have to consider cultural osmosis. Hololive is talked about everywhere. I stopped watching holos shortly after gen5 debuted, but I'm perfectly aware of who HoloX, Kobo, StarsEN etc. are. I may not know what they sound like as I've never caught a stream or even a clip from any of them, but I got the low-down on their talents and personalities. Holofags here don't get reliable information the same way; they're fed misinfo and rrats since most non-general Niji threads on /vt/ get shit up hard, and most actual, knowledgeable nijifags don't stray out of the generals into the catalog.
