Pick an exercise: swim, bike, or run
You're going to be doing it every day. At first you won't be able to do very much, and your calorie burn will be low. Then after 2 weeks you'll start slowly getting stronger. By the 2 month mark you'll be dramatically stronger. You might go from a 10 minute run, to a 25 minute run. And in another month it'll be a 35 minute run. By the time you're doing 45 minutes, your calorie burn will be so high you can't put on weight if you tried.
That's how it's done. You won't lose much at first, but by the end you'll be sloughing it off so fast you won't even believe it. On the eating side of things, just avoid anything with processed sugar. You can eat normally, so long as it's not super processed food. Eat bread, meat, spaghetti, whatever. No chips, no soda, no fritos, no candy
That'll do it. Keep in mind running is high impact. You need to be very careful not to get injured. Stretch afterwards for 15 minutes, get proper running shoes, stay off concrete. If you're super obese you need a pool.
You can expect to lose about 1/2 a pound per day once you get into it. You can do more if you work really hard.
