The only reason why Indonesia lost militarily was because no one gave any weapons to the fighters, so they had to use every scraps that they can get from the remnants of the Japanese army and buying weapons illegally from the money gathered from the people.
If the US never supported Indonesia, the Dutch will win, but Soviet and China will support the Communist fighters just as what happened in Vietnam, and the fighting is gonna be way worse than the Vietnam War because of the sheer number of people in Indonesia and terrible geography that Indonesia has.
