IIRC, he wasn't a professional player. He was just good at PUBG who could've tried and gone the professional player path. Same for Kanae. Other popular Nijimales are also popular despite not being that good at FPS. They're just more entertaining than the holostars.

Being in challenger is not the same as being a pro competitive player. Was he on a legit team?

I don't know how much they pay pro JP League players but based on how they played at Worlds, they're best is pretty bad compared to other regions. Kuzuha doesn't seem that good based on his recent streams either but I'm gonna assume its him being rusty.

Most viewers of holostars are EOP/ESL males. Most viewers of Kuzuha and Kanae are JOP males. They have fujoshi fanbases but there are still alot more guys watching streamers compared to girls. There are very few male streamers who have female fan numbers close or more than male ones, like Sykkuno.

Your example of Miko and 3rd Gen collab happening the same day shows that scheduling fall is middle management incompetence and lack of communication - which, again, is nothing uncommon if you ever worked in anything remotely corporate.

Also, HoloPro is one company but it still has different operations for each branch, and even in the same branch they'll stream concurrently if the manager doesn't care - like that time Rushia had to deal with her chat being upset that she streamed during events while double checking with her manager live and he/she saying it was fine to keep streaming.

Last, get used to it. HoloPro has 30 Active members in the Japanese Hololive + Azuki and 9 in Holostars.If they debut Gen 6 and/or 3 other Holostars this year, they'll be half a Nijisanji (If you ID and EN who's coming with a a new gen soon, they already are) - scheduling conflicts will be the rule, not the exception.

I think people really worry more about the talents then the talents worry about themselves. I'm sure that Shien and the rest of Holostars, Shinove included, aren't losing sleep at night worried that they aren't successful or that they don't enjoy what they do. Shien got to 100k in less then a year, same with Oga and Roberu for example. They're all doing well, and they're gonna keep growing over time. If Cover genuinely didn't want to keep them around or thought that they weren't doing well, they would have been disbanded already, and that's just not the case. I get that if you're comparing them to Hololive that it feels like two different worlds, and I understand completely if you aren't into male vtubers or male idols in general, I'm biased as a big fan of Holostars, but seriously they're doing well, and I'm sure everyone's happy for them.

This. Holostars first anniversary still have most of them around 10k subs. Now they are around 100k, that's almost 10 times the growth in just 1 year. Their numbers might be incomparable with the girls but if you look away from Hololive for a second, you'll realize they are the most successful male vtuber group outside of Nijisanji
