As the Hijab (which many consider to merely being the ''burka-light'') is looked down upon, because it is seen as a tool to punish women for the sexuality of men - outside the Muslim echo chamber that is. I realize Muslims are too indoctrinated to consider that it sends such a negative signal about social control, and hypocrisy. But that does not change the fact that for most people, it is seen as something women are pressured to use, unless they want to be shamed and tagged as whores - and not something they actually choose to wear themselves. Even Muslims who refuse to wear it, have a gripe with the compulsory element it has, in large parts of the Muslim world.
