Make sure you're using Wally for making your texture wads, and make sure the filenames you save as are straight forward, i.e. no spacing or special characters.
If it's a case of too many colors, I found it's better to open an exisinting wad, and import your images into that.
Make sure your textures are in these dimentions
>16x16>32x32>64x64>128x128>256x256>512x512You can also combine these, for example 32x128.
Make sure your individual textures are in .bmp, in indexted 8bit sRGB
