The only things I can imagine it being is heart surgery, a spinal issue (unlikely given she could move around fine beforehand), maybe digestive tract surgery. It was hereditary and all 3 are major ones with long rest usually.

There's considerably more that have been hospitalized for pretty severe health issues, but not close to death.
