In any case it absolutely killed their growth out of the gate, they missed out on Holo's first popularity boom entirely, and they were at 20k-40k subs when EN was announced By that point though, they'd been brought under the Hololive Productions umbrella so the new wave of fans that arrived with the EN explosion found them much more easily and they finally all hit six figure subs almost overnight. Some of those were JP viewers who only noticed them after the rush brought attention, but they got a lot of EN viewers in particular and a fair number of them stuck around.
