You make a game and make it pay to win, except that you use crypto currency.
Then you advertise your game by saying that you can earn money by playing the game, which is technically not a lie.
Now early adopters who acrued some wealth can obviously dominate the game. So they can get suckers to "work" for them. a.k.a they rent out your resources and you get a cut of their revenue.
The joke is that no one is actually playing to have fun. Everyone thinks they can make money, but only the devs and early adopters actually make any, while the rest of the suckers pump currency into the system.
