>>318374>It wasn't too long ago they were in that exact position. They still are, in Japan, afaik. It will be the opposite of that in the EN market.
EN and JP are effectively two separate viewerships, in the same way JP and ID used to be completely separate and JP going up or down had no reflection on Iofi's numbers.
Its true that EN's initial pump translated into higher viewership (and especially subcounts) for JP, but that is no longer the case.
Pekora mooning hard a couple months ago didnt reflect on EN numbers.
If Ina got 30k on her streams for a week it wouldnt touch Aqua's numbers, not anymore.
Niji's success in Japan will have no bearing on nijiEN because the EN side doesnt speak Japanese so they wont be able to see the shilling if it isnt clipped. Niji cant compete with Hololive in clipper amount or quality, either, so this is another lost front.
NijiEN competes directly with HoloEN without the help of nijiJP. HoloEN2 competes with no one with the help of HoloEN1 and a horde of clippers. Niji has no foothold.
Besides this, my original point still stands. HoloEN was primed to fail spectacularly and the fact that it did better than most of the company is a miracle neither Cover nor Niji will be able to replicate regardless of quality or talent. The vtuber fanbase is not as big as it used to be not 3 months ago, and it will only go down as time goes by.
Again, Niji missed the november pump.
