Newfag here who's thinking of investing in Anycolor, Inc.
How big is Nijisanji compared to Hololive and VShoujo? Do you think they'll be around for as long as them and keep growing, or are they just another company that jumped onto the vtuber fad and will fade into obscurity soon?
I don't mean to start any flamewars.

They are about the same size as Cover corporation. Anycolor makes more money overall, and is bigger in the Japanese market. They are the ones who pioneered Western vtubing as you know it today, Hololive basically copied their entire business model. They are the original.

who knows? They have very strong appeal to women because of all their handsome male vtubers, huge female fanbase. While Hololive's fanbase is 99% male. Hololive's fanbase goes berserk at any mention of male/female collabs, while Nijisanji treats males and females the same and freely mixes male and female vtubers.

One sign of growth might be the big Koshien baseball tournament Nijisanji does every year. Last year they got 150,000 viewers. This year they got 280,000 live viewers. Pretty good growth I'd say

For the numbers for Cover I believe Japanese companies are still required to publicly produce an annual statement of accounts and these numbers are taken from that.

The chart showing watch time is an estimation based off the number of viewers averaged on a stream and the length the stream went on for across all channels and all streams that month added up.

Since Cover isn't publicly traded they're don't need to advertise their numbers to draw in new investors, but like another anon has said they're still required to report everything to the JP gov, which is why your are able to still obtain the info it just requires some hoops to jump through.

This is a weird choice of phrase. They pioneered Live2D, which is now the standard everywhere, but at the time was derided for being cheap and shitty. Western vtubers were clearly heavily influenced by hololive, who were pretty much the only vtubers besides Kizuna Ai that anyone overseas had heard about. The overseas NijiJP audience was unironically like 20 people on /jp/

There's still a big difference between what hololive does (separate branches that sometimes collab) and what Nijisanji does (one big mixed group) and that's never changing.
JP has always been the same, there's some members who pander to unicorns and some who don't. Even the ones who don't aren't constantly on voice chat with guys, they do occasional collabs and that's it. Literally nobody cares that Fubuki had a whole series with Oga or that Suisei is in a musical group with Taku Inoue.
If there are any genuine unicorns in the EN fanbase (which I sincerely doubt) it seems like Gura is stepping up to be their designated "no males ever under any circumstances" panderer, much like Noel and Miko are these days for JP

I don't know when you only have 10 members and at least a third of them already collabed with the members of the male branch within a few weeks of them existing plus regularly publicly on twitter it creates a bit of a different impression than oh we have that one member Fubuki out of 35 girls that occasionally will collab with Holostars while the rest of them barely acknowledge their existence. Seems like the EN branch is taking it further to me?

If my understanding is right that translated to a pretty "professional" collab relationship whenever they dealt with the hologirls? Arurandeisu's handling of matsuri's character being my main point of conjecture.

Most of the members in question had already had male collabs before, it really shouldn't have been a surprise to anyone. There's also been a lot more JP collabs with guys than you'd think - for example Subaru used to do stuff with Maimoto all the time. Save your doomposting for a few more weeks at least, I don't think it'll be as common as you're expecting long term.

StarsEN seem pretty professional to me, and I'm sure they've been briefed on how to act around hololive. They've ignored or immediately shut down any sort of shipping or collab begging just like the JP guys from what I've seen.

Yeah, that was my impression as well, it's definitely has given the impression that even though they're technically the same branch, EN, they a part of of a different department so there's still a divide amongst the 2 groups, if that drops there would be a reason to believe there's a shift in their branches culture.
Kinda unrelated, but is nijiJP similar collab culture to nijiEn, or is it more conservative in comparison?

I thought I already explained why I thought that because proportionally speaking a lot more of the members in HoloEN have gotten involved with Holostars a lot quicker compared to HoloJP and the way the ones that have gotten involved casually interact on twitter on a regular basis or post screenshots of them talking on discord creates quite a different impression too.

From what I understand the NijiJP branch used to be more like NijiEN in the way they will casually have mixed gender impromptu collabs like 3 or 4 years ago. Then as they got more and more members and things became more and more corporate over the years it stopped happening so much I believe. Also you get autism and complaining about it like you do in the NijiEN threads here. It will occasionally still happen though like I remember Kuzuha randomly sending an @everyone on discord to try get an Among Us game going last year during one of his streams with whoever showed up getting to join and people that play Apex/Valorant etc regularly will have other members join in the middle of streams sometimes if they need someone for a team or whatever but those audiences are generally more accepting of that kind of thing.

Really? Nearly every stream from people like Kuzuha or Kanae is a collab with someone and they are some of the most popular members. They regularly play games like valorant and lol with a bunch of popular non vtuber streamers or popular male utaites. Or someone like Chihiro who is basically streaming Apex collabs all day everyday.

Nisisanji, Hololive and Vshoujo are going to keep growing for several years from now on, so in that aspect you don't have to worry. And how big as a company? Probably the biggest, cover corp was a house made of scraps when anycolor had everything and tried to have the monopoly of vtubers in Asia, but the international power made Cover the most recognized and being able to surprass a company full of investors and companies by their side. So, unless they fuck up their China market all good

They absolutely dominate in terms of having the most popular talents. Every single HoloJP gen and both HoloEN gens average more viewers than over 90% of Nijisanji's roster.
Nijisanji makes up for it on the business (and events) side by having a gigantic roster with a very long tail, but they only have a handful of top talents who can pull the same sort of crowd individually.

Technically true but slightly misleading, in that they started before hololive as a brand but after Cover and Sora
The only vtuber who started before Sora and is still active is Siro

They were both small companies, then Ichikara had their big breakthrough with Live2D and raised dump trucks full of money so they could accelerate a bunch of waves out really fast
Cover got some investment for 3D/VR tech that never went anywhere, then a much bigger (but still 1/3 the size of Ichikara) funding round in 2020 after hololive exploded

Some holofanboys who love to tell the underdog story eventhough Cover was never a small player. Sora was always one step below the heavenly king in their heyday and Cover was one of the few company has completely full 3D model which only a well off company has at that time.
