You see there's a difference here. The difference being that this is a legitimate hobby Nene has. This wasn't just some dumb impulse buy. This isn't like Pekora buying a monkey because her stupid woman brain saw its neotenous features and thought it would be a cute pet for her to just have around the house. This is her continuing to invest money in a hobby she has been into since she was a little 7 year old tomboy. She knows what she's doing and she can actually take care of the beetles.
