Without a system of ethics mediating culture clash, you wind up with a full blown culture war resulting from the majority exercising the tyranny of its sheer /numbers/. Minority rights are important to avoid animosity towards the majority. And in a neoliberal market, the minority has no rights and is told to eat shit. In that dynamic, the majority rightfully deserves contempt. After all,if they only care about themselves and make no effort at accommodating the needs of said minority, the minority can't be blamed for having an equally selfish mentality.
