Their entertainment and culture has gradually shifted socially leftward and towards neoliberal globalism over the years, and there's no reason to believe that trend will change.
I mean, what's even the fucking point? If nothing is sacred then nothing is worth caring about or fighting for, and there's no point learning Japanese because it won't stop the country (and subsequently it's culture and entertainment) from continuing to fall down the slippery slope towards western dysfunction. Self improvement requires inspiration and inspiring things are, by their very nature, idealistic. But in a world that fetishizes the destruction of everything ideal, might as well just get fat and lazy if you're not already a winner.
