A man with great love for his family can dull his pride and ambition if it meant peace and happiness for his home. But a woman with ambition given the rod of lightning, can never dull her sense. It is in Amelia's nature to try what she can, and see value in what she missed in her life, and try to prove herself.
In her mind, the world has forsaken her, being forced to take care of her family, drop out of college, and work at an early age.
She despises those who had it easy, probably even those blesses with not only with a loving and easy family, but also a life and a body with gifts from heaven.
Gura is the complete opposite of Amelia. Gura have a loving father (according to the RM), and a doting mother, and an upbringing which cherished her talent, and cultivated it. To Amelia, Gura was served life on a golden platter, while she herself was given nothing.
To rectify this inferiority complex she pathologically has, she will eternally try hard, and rage against the heaves if she soever fails.
