Just like Sonic Adventure 2, you can have a hell of a lot of good fun with a janky game
Just like that game, the movement is complex in a fun way that creates lots of expressive potential, there are lots of silly moments and silly voice acting, the jank creates funny moments and "frustrating" challenges that I view more as silly setbacks that are enjoyable to laugh at but also fun to overcome, the rest of the aesthetics/music is great, there's an old-school charm, the character interactions are fun, there's a whole lot of content and replay value plus exploration value to the levels
The thing about "oh yeah I remember this level" levels are if you have a whimsical and appreciative mindset instead of a whiny and complainy negative attitude, then you can turn any struggle into a nice experience
There's probably no better test of that imo than Super Mario Sunshine and Sonic Adventure 2
