Kimetsu no Yaiba is one of the most popular franchises of recent years and takes place in the Taisho, nobody found it remotely controversial. In fact, people on /a/ were disappointed the manga was specifically set in the Taisho to avoid the historical controversies after that era. The stuff Japan is terrified to depict. So it's kinda hilarious to me that there's people out there who pretend the civilians of the Taisho period are controversial, at that point they are basically admitting that until the genocide of the Japanese is complete, they are free to claim offense to anything they want. Which has always been the Korean stance by the way and Japanese who cave to their pressures should all be shot.
