Although I'd argue that Kano never tried to hide it from the very first video and has used roommate-kun's real voice at times for entertainment too, so I'm willing to say it's more voice acting/theatrics than trooning.
I'd rather watch someone play videogames and be happy with it than baiting lonely young and middle aged men for money, which is pretty scummy and predatory in my opinion. But I'm not going got rain on their viewers' parade if ultimately they're having having fun.
