I used to watch Ironmouse for a while and still like her but the streams started feeling samey, her model got downgraded and when she enabled the obnoxious Twitch text 2 speech and funny noises I bailed.
Mel's pretty chill too but I'm satisfied a highlight or two of her monthly.

That's the top tier Twitch content so it makes sense. It's why Just Chatting is the most popular category on Twitch. Once you make it, you really don't need to put as much work in your content as often. Do something neat every few weeks and the rest is cruise control.

I don't really see the big issue. Typically people watch streamers for the personality not the game unless it's a speedrun or niche category. It makes sense that they'd want to just have the "hang out" experience with them.

That's all the way to the top dude, most people in /vt/ are just fairly new to Twitch and are only now realizing their idols are in the end just regular streamers that use an avatar. Unless you're pro at a game, odds are you got big from your personality and humor, intelligence, wit, or whatever other trait defines your content.
