Twitch is kind of garbage compared to Youtube though
>Can't upload non-streaming videos, unlike Youtube which has Streams, Videos and Shorts AND stories AND the community board AND a separate member's community board etc.
>All these fucking overlays that you can't easily get rid of
>The "Free Bits" currency to spend on sound alerts and other things that make watching a comfy stream impossible and allows the twitch version of greynames a voice. Imagine giving backseaters more power voluntarily.
>In general watching someone with too high a viewership becomes a hassle because of all the weird things like throwing objects at a chuuba and various effects makes it impossible to actually focus on the streamer and their content instead of random noises. As such streamers are incentivised to make their viewership LOW, not high.
>Owned by Amazon so you know it's going to get worse.
>Top earners are getting fucked over by the new split so they'll move to greener pastures and without the talent Twitch will not operate at the high level they do now
>Ads out the wazoo before and during the stream which Twitch actively attempts to force on you and works to prevent people from blocking them. With a TV whenever they show ads there's no TV show to miss unlike streams where you can miss stuff. Youtube has a free adblocker and there are other adblockers that make using youtube like it was in the old days a reality. No banner ads, nothing.
>Worse bitrate and quality than Youtube in general
>If you open Twitch it automatically plays a random stream of someone you don't want to watch. Youtube doesn't do this.
>Twitch VODs have part of their audio muted if their system detects any copyrighted content. Good luck listening to that zatsu!
>Youtube has better numbers in general
>Youtube has the premiere system, which means you can just have the tab open and wait. This is very convenient. Twitch doesn't do this.
>You cannot grow organically on Twitch. You bring in an audience from other platforms or get viral on Twitter.
And that's so say nothing the people who use it think of the people who run it.
Twitch does have advantages to youtube. They are thus:
>Better chat integration and game/stream integration through extensions. Marbles and such.
>The follower's tab updates correctly, and on time. Something I can't remember the YT one doing. You have to refresh to get a better picture or use other sites on YT like Holodex, and you can see what a Twitch streamer is streaming before you open their channel.
>Better search system. Sort by tags and then either Numbers or Recommended. Works every time. This is different from Youtube where finding and old VOD or new content that you actually want to watch is a miracle. However, there's no general recommended tab built for everyone, just one built for YOU, which makes it hard for someone who opens the site to find something good if they aren't following anyone.
>Raids used to be a Twitch only feature, but Youtube added that so there goes one of their competitive advantages.
In other words. Kana is a fucking moron. Chatters on Twitch are just the same as the ones on Youtube but because the way Twitch runs things you cannot get high enough numbers to reach a "normal" audience, which includes annoying people. It's less responsibility and work I guess. I've seen chuubas methodically control their chats on YT just fine, it just takes effort and time.
