Unity was created for one reason and one reason only; happiness.
We were fans of the girls, and we wanted to keep the good feelings going. It was weak at first, but then it was supported by a person who seemed to personify the idea, J.R. for privacy.
J.R. was a rallying beacon, and after those few weeks, Unity was solidified enough to stay strong for months to come.
From the foundation of Unity, we built the concept of the "Honorary EN," which allowed us to accept a few JPs into the idea of Unity. There was fighting about what is and isn't an Honorary EN, but eventually, the concept fell out of style.
That was when we moved into the Shin Unity concept. Unity between all Holos, of all styles. This is also when the Meido Civil War started, and Unity was the rock upon which we kept the thread alive through the /qa/ raids. That was when we accepted JP along with ID and EN, and the concept of allowing no dead hours to remain if it could be avoided was stressed; no one wanted to let a rrat of any size grow during dead hours when the foundations of our thread was so fragile.
Now, we have the new, /vt/ arc of Unity, where we should hopefully solidify the Shin Unity. /hlgg/ has moved from a splinter thread of the original, to the true inheritor of the title, "Hololive Global," the thread which covers Hololive across the globe.
Unity is the bedrock upon which we grew this field of plenty. Do not forego it so haphazardly.
