Yes, she likes to use herself to start a conversation, but that's because all the JP senpais do it like that. The difference is that they know it's a conversation starter and they respond to create an ongoing discussion.
I perfectly get that it's not what they're used to, but you can't expect the game to carry the conversation every time and unless they learn to talk to each other properly, fiascos like the Don't Starve Together or the Uno collab will keep happening. Ina and Gura are heading in the right direction at least.
