>>34712796 GTA 5's story mode is awful. Combat is a drag since you can get 3 shot by pistols even with max health and armor, hell you can get shot down from a helicopter thousands of feet above by npc's firing with small pistols. So you are forced to turtle and cower with the terrible cover system which usually leaves your head exposed anyways, the only exception being Trevor and even then the rage meter takes forever to refill so you end up turtling down anyways. The money you gain is pointless since the missions force you to use the gear and vehicles it allows at the start. All you can do is buy a few clothes which are usually casual and dull, custom the car you never use and buy expensive properties. You spend hundreds of thousands just so you can unlock more boring busywork like fucking taxi driving for a miserable wage. There's no permanent character upgrades like health, ammo capacity, speed, stamina or armor like in old GTA for doing side missions. Then there's the huge map, it is an absolute drag to drive from one side to the other with the extreme distances and hyper aggressive AI intentionally crashing into you, I would not have finished my playthrough without the taxi teleporting me, the taxi also takes a couple of minutes to arrive and will be unavailable 70% of the time just to waste your fucking time. Then there's the missions 90% of them are not only pointless but also boring fetch quests/menial tasks. Just like the story, which drags on far more than it should because most of the characters have no personality or change, they are archetypes: adopted disciple/son, rich jaded old man, crazy hillbilly strawman. They never change.
