>>3481398 (OP)Coco isn't some grand god arbiter of memery. She fucking hardly understands what they really are, and so do most redditors. In fact she basically doesn't understand period. Sort of like how she said a waifu is just someone you beat off to, she has just a fucking wrong interpretation of these things because she's a Westaboo but not truly one of us. If you were put in suspended animation 20 years ago and thawed out, and had no idea Rickroll was a meme, you would still think it's just a song if you saw it despite being one of the mother of all memes. Like that - it's all a social context. You just know when you see it, etc. The holo reddit doesn't fucking HAVE a social context, because they don't openly discuss the streams and debate various things about Holo like we do and have done. They can't, not without being punished. They're a fake "community" so it's no surprise the ENs don't really give a shit about it, in fact besides Coco herself, no Holos really do, besides for Western PR purposes for their own benefit/numberfagging. They're a fucking corporate mouthpiece that specifically set that thing up as a PR platform. What do people expect.
There are memes about Holos - here, and there have been memes back in /jp/ for years now. Are they all great? Nope. Some of them have been funny sometimes though, like Towababy. The thing is, an actual meme is not and cannot be something you manufacture on purpose, it happens by accident - you only realize it's one after it's gotten big in a social group. It's not something stamped off a boilerplate in a production line and pinned up on the fridge, with it never having had any real play in a social arena, and definitely can't be made on command to compete on some stupid youtube segment. That is beyond fake, it's not even memery. You would recognize it's just clueless people tryharding being attention whores if it was for something other than Hololive, like if the Microsoft official whatever asked you to compile xbox live memes for an xbox meme review and they did this fucking weekly for months and months even long after what little community stuff that existed was thoroughly covered, and people just make shit up off the top of their heads to string it along.
What reddit makes, never had any real meaning. Do they make funny things sometimes? Maybe 1/100 odds perhaps. What they REALLY are like, is like the YLYL threads on /b/ - a place where you post funny pictures. That's all. There's nothing really wrong with that at all, it's just not "memes" and it's painful cringe seeing people try so hard for something so meaningless. You laugh you lose threads aren't themselves a meme nor are they specifically a source of memes. Reddit """meme'"" review is basically like "make a you laugh you lose thread only it's hololive flavored."
