All personas of VTubers are an act (and many don't even try to hide their distaste for their audience), they couldn't care less about you. They're still 3DPD in the end even if they put on an anime avatar. AI doesn't have this problem, AI can be whatever or whoever you want them to be, all of the upsides with none of the downsides of VTubers. 3DPD VTubers were always a stop-gap until we get sufficiently good AI to have completely virtual, actual VTubers
