>>35097589I've been putting together a little theory on Amelia Watson, if you will. I believe she has a case of reactive attachment disorder that has carried through to adulthood.
It results in response to children not forming many strong emotional bonds with their caregivers when they are growing up. As Amelia has alluded to very loosely, her home life wasn't exactly perfect by any means, and around her debuts she specifically said her mother "wasn't around anymore" and only came back into her life somewhat recently. She's been even more vague about her father. Luckily, Auntie Watson did come into the picture and spared her the worst of the condition.
But adults who had childhoods challenging in the ways mentioned above can have issues relating to the formation of relationships, and are characterized as being withdrawn from social circles around them and they struggle to maintain significant relationships, though they are not necessarily rude, and can often be friendly and well liked. Their issue is that they struggle in receiving love (not necessarily giving it) and opening up to others. They "keep the mask on" if you will, and don't like showing emotional weakness even to people they care about quite deeply. They are also more easily frustrated, and prone to impulsive decision making, often without consulting others.
From my read Amelia's situation isn't a bad case by any means, likely because she did have some good relationships in the form of her big brother and auntie Watson that kept her from being completely socially isolated. But the fact that she seems to make an effort to remove herself from social situations and take a more managerial or observational role (like in a lot of the larger group collabs where she plays a camerawoman) and seems to be very keen on helping others despite very seldomly receiving help herself (and usually preferring doing things herself anyway, even if she runs into things half cocked and then messes things up when she gests frustrated) seems distinctive to me of this condition.
