Clips are necessary, they are FREE advertisement
a 1, 3, 10h stream will not get recommended by the youtube algorithm and the talent will not get new exposure thus they will not grow or grow way slower than they do now with clippers
Meanwhile a 2 to 5min clip WILL be picked up by the algorithm and be shoved on every one's face till they watch it.
A lot of people here found out about v-tubers by a clip I am sure of it, because YT will not promote the streams unless you are already watching them, and word of mouth only goes so far.
>b-but cover should do the clips themselves themYeah, pay a whole division to just clip random parts of a stream instead of getting it done for free by a bunch of autsits, some of these channels have clips up while the stream is still up, I doubt you could pay some one a realistic salary to do that kind of shit
tl;dr you need clippers just as much the video game industry needs streamers/letsplay/video game essay channels. It is free advertisement of the product they make.
