I always wonder how do people become and remain parasocially attached to HoloEN members? With the amount they stream it must suck to have that kind of attachment to them. It seems like you will spend most of your life missing them. The NijiEN experience with people like Elira and Selen is so different you get to spend 5-7hrs nearly every single day with your imaginary girlfriend and they usually spend hours of that just chatting with their fans and the smaller audience sizes make it so much easier to actually interact with them too.

These two are pretty good. I would just put Reimou and Kroni higher. Reimou is a pretty good singer and Kroni because makes she is fun in collabs (which keeps her terrible unicorn fanbase in check).

Unironically Nina's punk rock karaokes were more fun too even though I normally dislike her. I'm tired of every EN vtuber singing the same disney and top 40 pop songs every karaoke stream.

It isn't just "spamming" streams though it's so much more than that. Spending time with your fans, actually acting like you enjoy what you're doing rather than doing the bare minimum, providing a good value membership, actually playing and completing a wide variety of different games and not just playing fotm shit, regularly doing creative stuff and various projects, the girls that can sing actually doing karaoke more than once in blue moon, actually working hard and not just creating a facade of it, everything any of the HoloEN girls do there's a NijiEN girl that does it better while not coming across like they don't want to be there. The NijiEN girls actually make you feel valued as a fan and like they're giving it their all to grow and progress while the HoloEN girls just feel like their coasting along doing the bare minimum to keep afloat.

When you out HoloEN next to NijiEN it sure looks that way. I don't know how anyone manages to gaslight themselves into thinking their oshi enjoys their job, spending time with their fans and actually wants to be there when they are quite happy to disappear for weeks with basically no communication and then only stream for a couple of hours at a time every few days when they're actually there.

I never really got why HoloEN fans act like "funny" is a special skill. Watching NijiEN since debut and the majority of the girls can make me genuinely laugh in most of their streams. Being able to be funny is like a baseline requirement for being a decent variety streamer not some superpower.

I never got why HoloSanji EN fans act like "creative" is a special skill when there's a dozen and a half 2views with more zanny and revolutionary stream ideas. For example, Millie's adventure stream last year was predated by a male 2views and he turned it into an entire multistream arc. Handcams too were started way by the indiesphere before Niji and Holo EN ever touched them.
All this talk about HoloEN got going out of their bubble is laughable when I segment NijiEN fans who don't even go out of their own bubble. And I'm going to take shots at small corpo fans too, because they too never stepped out of their own bubble. I bet they didn't even watch PhaCon's Tenma or Aetheria's Menace before they joined those various corpos.

What do I mean by this? What I meant is there is ALWAYS someone else more involved and informed about vtubing and feeling smug about your paltry awareness is pathetic. Just enjoy who you like and do not use these entertainers as a cudgel for your petty internet fights.

Creativity isn't about being the first to do something or even about being the best at doing something. It just means having an open mind and being willing to try new types of content all the time.
You don't have to be at the bleeding edge of vtuber content to be creative, just don't fall into the same loops of repetitive content that every other vtuber does like playing flavor of the month games.

In that department Niji girls are way more open to trying different stream ideas, admittedly mostly stuff they picked up from other streamers or youtubers, but at least they didn't have an arc of endlessly spamming Vampire Survivors and Pokemon.

Pomu literally had a stream very recently that was just her trying to do a 1:1 recreation of a comedy improv skit from Whose Line Is it Anyway, and she said as much. It flopped spectacularly because no one participating were familiar with the original skit and the stock images she used were really shitty for improv. But at least she was trying, and that's what counts.

This is a bit unfair to nijis, only Elira has a 3D model right now, but it will be fun to see how Maria and Pomu dance when they eventually get it.

Millie, Enna, hell maybe even Pomu.

Comparing creatividad is kinda... But nijiENs do it. Pomu has her virtual to live cover that involved sending a weather balloon high enough to get a space shot. I think she used a raspberry py and explained concepts like integer overflow on stream (it happened when measuring altitude to put it in the video). She has scripted streams like her valentine's stream and Pomu goes to court that are funny. Millie has her undating streams where several niji livers roleplay being in a dating show. Enna did a puppet show for Ethirya's anniversary, and her higurashi concert is one of the best streams in niji history, involving tons of original instrumentals she was involved in production herself. Selen is great at doing the same kind of producer work Ame did for the 3D chibi streams.
Ame stands out for being an all-in-one, all rounder at all of this and the only girl in holoMyth even trying.

Produced music implied OG songs, since you're attacking Mori, so I will only judge the 3 last one.
Tsunami is the actual banger of the three, the lazulight song is a fucking generic jp idol-ish song. And Rose me is pretty mediocre. And even Tsunami doesn't really stand up to Mori's best songs (or even mid songs) like EOAL, Red, Live Again, Scuffed up age, etc. I do see that it was produced by Kira, but even then it doesn't even stand up to Sparks or Do U from Kiara. But yeah, it's still pretty good.

What NijiEN lacks though is a repertoire to be used not just as a scale of improvement over time, and as a testing ground for what "sticks" and a library to use as a reference on what is/isn't good. Quality over quantity will always be cope because you need to constantly hone your craft as a music writer and/or lyricist by trying out different things. Releasing a single song and hoping it's the magnum opus won't get you anywhere. There's only so much you can do with releasing cover songs, they don't really have any much leeway when it comes to the creative direction.

I guess PewDiePie is better than every vtuber put together? Might be shocking to you but it's not exactly controversial that things with mass appeal are usually less nuanced, and people with more discerning tastes will move away from the normalfag bait towards more niche but higher quality content.
You can't appeal to everyone if you're serious as an entertainer or artist. Usually that kind of mindset is toxic to creativity.

Given that /vt/ is a containment board for DDIQ's it makes sense that there's a huge bias against anything outside the mainstream. It's basically just a reddit clone at this point.

People bringing up HoloEN when comparing to their competition is just how media discussion works though. Inevitably if you want to shill a niche media to normalfags and casuals you have to frame it in a way that references something they're already familiar with. For example if you want to introduce your friend to a sci-fi series you might compare it to Star Wars just to illustrate the things it does better or differently. It's genuinely helpful for getting people to try new things if you show familiarity with things they already like.

I mean this is 4chan after all. Console wars are the norm here. Half the time it's falseflaggers trying to trigger their own fanbase into rabidly hating the other fanbase by posting bait in the catalog.

If you want to have a genuine discussion over vtubers without numberfagging or shitting on other vtubers I'm sure there's people who would take you up on it, but inevitably someone will try to troll you over your tastes and you kinda have to get used to it. I occasionally make threads to talk about Pomu or Rosemi and half the replies are just outright hate because /vt/ is so polarized.

If I wanted something autistically specific to my tastes, I will watch indies instead. Petra and Scarle are great though, I watch them the most over everyone in Niji.
