>>35821164The biggest let down of all this isn't that guys collabs with girls, it's that it's stigmatized loneliness as a concept even though it's a sad reality of the people that watch this type of thing. Like, let's be real here how many people picked vtubing up because of the crushing loneliness that was Covid? Whose daily interactions fell apart because of Working from home, redundancies and departures?
Psycho unicorns are one thing and boundaries definitely should be set, but vtubers are much more intimate by design compared to the average streamer and some people just don't want the status quo that helped them through a tough time to get changed up.
That might not have been what the girls signed up for, but for two years they were happy to take advantage of that support and trying to deny that was ever a part of the dynamic is just refusing to face reality. Suddenly it's like if you don't enjoy collabs then you are the problem, if you prefer streams being about the development of the person and fanbase you are the problem.
>But they collaborated beforeDon't act like it's the same thing, collaborations before were mostly small one-off events or Minecraft, even then it was mostly within a Unit that you would expect to develop together. The dynamic IS different with the boys because it's been these long-ass tournaments and big group plays, it's distant as a concept and looks to be a recurring thing. There are perfectly legitimate reasons to be against change and how they have handled this as a group and as individuals, but instead it's the bulk of the fans who are wrong because possessive voices are the loudest.
